John Tuma’s Capitol Update – Summer Edition, August 26, 2010

Now that the 2010 session has ended, John follows his past tradition of recognizing those in the Legislature who championed the environmental cause in the tradition of Sigurd Olson, the great Northwoods traveler and author.
John shares the story of a courageous citizen who is making a difference at the Capitol. He also imparts some wisdom as a "grizzled old lobbyist" about the last week of the legislative session here in Minnesota - the week that the proverbial political bullets start flying with greater intensity around the Capitol as legislators take shots at each other and the Governor, battling to the end of session.

Though the 2010 Minnesota legislative session produced mixed results for Minnesota’s clean energy and Great Outdoors future, our work does not stop here.
We need your help to pass strong environmental policies next year! We need to hold our elected officials accountable and make certain these issues are highlighted in the November Election.
