It would allow building with bicycles, pedestrians in mind

For decades, planners have designed Minnesota's roads to move cars and trucks as efficiently and quickly as possible.

According to the Star Tribune editorial board, the Complete Streets legislation introduced last week "would help state shift from roads-only approach."

(ST. PAUL) -  A measure to make roads safer and more accessible for all Minnesotans – regardless of age or ability or whether traveling by car, bus, bike or on foot – was introduced into the Minnesota legislature today.

ST. PAUL – The Minnesota Complete Streets Coalition announces that “Complete Streets” legislation will be introduced Monday, February 8, to improve the safety of the state’s roads for all Minnesotans. In the past decade, more than 500 people died and another 20,000 were injured walking or riding bikes on Minnesota roads.

Douglas Drive in Golden Valley is drawing more drivers and endangering pedestrians.
