Protect our water and our wallets from toxic mining pollution

Did you know that multinational corporations are planning to build new toxic-producing mines in northeastern Minnesota?

These so-called "sulfide" or "non-ferrous" mines threaten our lakes, rivers, and streams in and around the Boundary Waters and near Lake Superior and Minnesota taxpayers are at risk to pay the bill for long-term pollution clean-up.

Urge your legislators to support stronger financial assurance, a "damage deposit" that companies should provide before they are allowed to open a sulfide mine.  That way clean-up costs are covered even if the mining company leaves Minnesota or goes bankrupt.
